A fabulous Antique French guard chain made up of fancy Silver links leading to a large ring clasp which may have been used to attach a locket or a cylinder of fur known as a Muff to keep the wearers hands warm in winter. 

It’s a wonderful chain with a nice length that can be worn as one long chain or wrapped twice around the neck.
